About me
I was born in Boise, Idaho, the oldest of four. We moved to Alberta, Canada when I was seven and later to Hershey, Pennsylvania where I graduated high school. I worked during the day and went to school at night, receiving an A.A. in both Business Administration and Paralegal Studies. I moved to Columbus in 1987 and my son, Ben, was born in 1989.
Since that time, I’ve worked as a paralegal, office manager, medical secretary, marketing/communications assistant and doing E.R. registration for various law firms, a psychiatrist, Riverside Methodist Hospital, Pregnancy Decision Health Center and Bible Literature International.
My hectic life became overwhelming and I sought out counseling to sort through a divorce and my anxiety and depression. Together we focused on the truth of who I was created to be and the vision for my life. In 2002, I graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary (Ashland University) with a Masters in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. In January 2003, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor and have seen clients in private practice since that time.
As part of my internship with WellSpring Counseling, I co-facilitated numerous DivorceCare groups and put together a depression screening at a women’s health fair. Currently, I enjoy co-facilitating small groups at Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12-step group. I love to speak to people and was excited to be asked by MOPS of Dublin to speak several years ago and in July 2007, I spoke at the OCFoundation annual conference in Houston, Texas.
My house is much quieter with my son off at college, but GracieLu (Jack Russell), Kallie (tiger cat) and I enjoy friends, worship and Pittsburgh Steeler football!
